Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay fighter. She competes currently with the UFC Flyweight division. She is older than her fellow UFC Fighter and Former UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko started her professional career as an Muay Thai boxer. She debuted in 2003, at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner of the tournament and defeated Suzane Milliner with a unanimous verdict. Antonina kept her winning streak going by winning a silver and bronze medal in 2008 and 2007 respectively, a Gold medal in 2011 and the 2015 IFMA amateur Muay Thai world champion. Antonia's professional debut came in 2003. In 2012 she won the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship In 2016, she won she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, she won the WMC World Championships. Antonina has fought her last time against Isa Tidblad Kskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won unanimously. Antonina shevchenko fought her debut professional MMA fight in 2002 with Anara bayanova at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan. She won this fight with a TKO after round 2. Her two subsequent matches were held in WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko was absent from MMA to concentrate on her kickboxing and made her comeback with Anissa Haddaoui at Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko won against Anissa by a unanimous vote and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She joined Dana White Contender Series 2018 after leaving the promotion. Shevchenko was able to take on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina's formidable strike abilities let her TKO Nievera via knees in the back of her. Antonina Shevchenko received an UFC contract following this win. Antonina made her UFC debut at the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took the win via unanimous decision but lost her next fight against Roxanne Modafferi in a split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from losing and defeated Lucie Pudddilova at UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submission in the second round. This fight earned Antonina the Fight of the Night bonus. Shevchenko lost 1-2 in her next 3-fights, defeating Ariane Lipski and losing to Katlyn Chookagian and Andrea Lee.
